Pavement & Striping

Asphalt patching for failed sections of pavement

Patching replaces a defined section of damaged asphalt instead of filling a single hole. It is the usual fix for alligator cracking, sunken areas, and old repairs that have broken up.

The problem

Alligator cracking — a web of connected cracks — means the pavement in that area is no longer holding together. Filling the cracks does not last; the damaged section needs to come out and be replaced.

How deep a patch goes depends on what caused the failure. Surface wear may only need the top layer replaced. Failures caused by water or a weak base need deeper work, which we confirm on site.

  1. 01Each damaged area close up and from a few steps back

  4. 04Any earlier patches that have broken down again

When we may need to see the site

  • Large areas or many separate patches across the lot
  • Sunken or rutted pavement that may point to base or drainage issues
  • Areas that could need milling or resurfacing instead of patching

Next step

Send photos with rough sizes. We will scope the patches, or suggest a site visit if the damage looks deeper than the surface.
